Biography
Elona Baum is a partner at Defta Partners, a seed stage VC that focuses on digital health and novel thearuputics. Previously, Elona was a VP and Associate General Council at Coherus BioSciences. Prior to this position, she served as General Counsel and VP of Business Development for the California Institute for Regenerative Medicine (CIRM). From 1996 to 2009, Elona held the positions of Associate General Counsel, and Director of Regulatory Policy and Strategy at Genentech, Inc. She also served as the Secretary to the Board of Directors of Genentech Espana. Prior to Genentech, Elona practiced law at two San Francisco firms. Elona also served as an extern for Justice John A. Arguelles, California Supreme Court. She holds an economics degree from UCLA and a JD from the University of California, Hastings College of Law.
